European stocks set to open higher today-check out the DAX futures
The US stock markets are closed later today, but Europe will be up and running as normal a little later this morning and the outlook is positive right now. The DAX had already closed higher on Friday, gaining 157 points, to close the week at 16,704. It was not the best performing index though, as that mantle belonged to the CAC 40. The gains in Asia this morning, most notably for the Nikkei 225 has set a positive tone for the opening this morning and right now the DAX is priced to reopen above 16,750. It was set higher earlier, at close to 16,800, but the DAX future has backed off a bit in more recent trading. The DAX is currently priced to reopen at around 16,768
