The European stock markets did reopen lower today, but since then the major indexes have been clawing back some lost ground. The DAX reopened at 15,184 after posting a close yesterday at 15,247. The earlier low was set at 15,166 which was some way above the earlier futures implied low, underneath 15,100. The index is now pressing above the 15,200 handle, as the FTSE lifts in early trading too. Outside of that not much has really changed in terms of dynamics and it remains to be seen how far this current rebound will extend. The DAX is currently trading at 15,210, but it is still yet to reclaim levels where it closed last night and in that sense, the current rebound could simply be another of those gap closing exercises
