European stocks rebound in late morning trade- CAC 40 still the worst performing major index

The earlier downside across the European stock markets, into and after the opening has now been partly reversed, but as things stand right now, the DAX and the CAC are still in the red. The FTSE 100 is not far off rising back into positive territory though and the US equity futures are also off their worst levels of the morning, but not by very much. There is no standout catalyst for the European rebounds and certainly nothing released from an earnings perspective. So, it remains to be seen if this rebound will have more legs today, or it will give way to another relapse later on. The CAC 40 traded to a low at 7,464 earlier this morning and hence close to a break below 7,450. However, that has not materialised yet and the index has now rebounded back above 7,525, but it is still very much in the red and still the worst performing of the major European indexes just now
