The European stock markets have been open for around 45 minutes and in that time there has been an overall lack of traction for the main indexes. The FTSE 100 is still struggling underneath 7,700 and the CAC 40 is slipping back towards 7,900. At the same time, the DAX has edged lower and the slight downside drift comes as the Dow Jones futures remain in the red. The index has so far topped out at the opening level and it is currently trading at 17,725
