The European stock markets have been open for just over 30 minutes now and all the three major indexes are still in, or close to being in the red. The CAC 40 is leading the losses right now, but there is little traction for the FTSE 100 and not so yet for the DAX. Of course this could be due to the month-end. The DAX is also being dragged down by a second profit warning from VW today and that is not helping the direction.The dollar is edging off earlier lows versus its major counterparts and that is a drag on the DAX too. Perhaps it would make sense for the DAX to suffer a deeper bout of profit-taking heading into the month-end, after what has been an impressive record run, up until last Friday. The DAX closed on Friday at 19,473. It reopened today at 19,412 and so far that has been the low of the day, but the index is not much above that low right now, currently trading at 19,414
