European stocks flattering to deceive on the opening- check out the DAX right now
The European stock markets have just reopened and it has not exactly been a fanfare of gains this morning. The EURO STOXX 50 is lower by around 0.40% on the opening and the DAX is not making any progress now. In fact the DAX is now falling back towards 17,900 and hence at this moment below where it last closed on Tuesday. There is no direct catalyst for the lack of traction, but perhaps we should remember the losses on Wall Street into the close last night, where only the Dow Jones held any of its session gains, notwithstanding the push higher in US futures this morning. The DAX is now in the red, trading at 17,915
