European stock markets set for a slightly lower opening shortly-check out the DAX futures

The European stock markets will shortly reopen for the final session of the week and right now it looks like trading will kick off slightly in the red. Yesterday the DAX was the only major index to close lower. The DAX closed just 12 points lower, at 20,317. The FTSE 100 was the standout performer, with a 0.83% rise on the day, but more on that later this morning.  The CAC 40 gained 0.51%. The losses across the Asian markets today have not helped the opening outlook for all three this morning and of course there was no lead from the US markets last night. There are no German economic releases due out today to guide trading and the focus is very much stateside later on. The DAX is right now priced to reopen shortly at around 20,300
