It did not happen yesterday, but it was close again for the FTSE 100. The index fell to a low at 8,112, but managed to hold above the noted support at 8,105 for an umpteenth time. The index later closed at 8,153.69. That made it the best performing major European index, with a loss of just 0.17% on the day. That compared to losses in the CAC of 1.12% and 0.92% for the DAX. All of these indexes face an uncertain start today, given the slide in the US last night and corresponding losses across the Asian markets today. The FTSE 100 future is right now pricing the effective opening this morning at around 8,133, but whatever happens it is going to see some rapid price action at times later today.
