European futures point to higher opening for the DAX this morning

Yesterday afternoon all the European stock markets took fright after further news emerged from Ukraine surrounding the use of UK long range military equipment there. That sent stocks on the slide here in Europe and the Yen and the dollar both gained. So, the DAX tumbled below 19k and the CAC 40 fell below 7,200. Both later set negative closes. As for the DAX it somehow managed to just avoid a daily close below the 19k handle after hitting a session low prior to that, at 18,962. The DAX closed at 19,004, with a loss of 55 points on the day. However, as the situation appears to have settled that has helped the European futures to push higher this morning. So, the DAX is currently priced to reopen higher, right now at around 19,100. At the same time, we should be mindful of more potential volatility to come again today and headline trading is very much the watch word once more
