Europe set to return today with a higher opening- check out the DAX futures
Of course the European markets were all closed for the Christmas holidays yesterday and that meant now live trading for the likes of the CAC 40, FTSE 100 and DAX indexes. The gains stateside yesterday and in Asia today have of course helped the opening outlook for this morning. The DAX last closed on Friday December 22 at 16,706, with a gain of just 18 points on the day. The outlook for the opening this morning is quite a bit higher than that, currently at around 16,765. There has been a dearth of DAX centric news since last week and the positive momentum ahead of the opening is not unique to itself, that is clear to see. That said, we can see the Santa rally is in full swing already this week and it remains to be seen if anything will come along to derail that for the DAX over the next 3 trading days ahead of the New Year
