EUR/GBP sets first daily and weekly close of the year below 0.8400
On Friday the EUR/GBP did eventually take out the current 2024 low at 0.8397. That later led the price to a new 2024 low, close to 0.8390. The Euro later closed the week out at 0.83973. The price action so far today has delivered a new low for the year, at 0.8388. The move below 0.8397 is not exactly charging lower though and momentum on the downside is rather slow, but that may not detract from the prospect of more downside to come. It could depend on the GBP/USD making a bolder move above the psychologically important 1.30 handle- more on that in a short while. The EUR/GBP is currently trading at 0.8395
