EUR/GBP falls to a new 2024 low
As the European equity markets slide to fresh lows for the week just now, the Pound has bounced versus the Euro and the dollar. However, it is the gains versus the Euro that stand out the most right now. The EUR/GBP has now fallen to below the low point seen yesterday, as it slips below 0.8435. Last week an update here noted the potential for the EUR/GBP to fall closer to the 0.80 mark over time and so far this week there seems little reason to detract from such an outlook. That is not to say the EUR/GBP will fall that far, but more so to provide a directional call on where it is headed to in the short-term. So, that has proved to be correct. The EUR/GBP is currently trading at 0.8433
