ECB boss talks tough on inflation as a return to above 1.10 looms large
The ECB boss, Christine Lagarde is still addressing the press right now and following her prepared remarks, it seems the bent of her replies to journalist questions is quite hawkish in their demeanour and that has helped to push the EUR/USD to fresh session highs above 1.0975. If you remember the EUR/USD peaked at 1.1017 on November 28. I must admit that seems a long time ago in these markets, but it was only a couple of weeks back. Anyway, the odds of that now getting taken out are now rising even more, when looking at this ECB stance, compared to that of the Fed last night. The EUR/USD has literally just now pushed above 1.0975
