Early US players step in and push the dollar higher- EUR/USD falls below 1.15

The previous update looking at the Dow Jones noted the EUR/USD still holding the 1.15 handle. Well, not long after that one went out, the EUR/USD fell below that 1.15 handle and set a new session low a moment ago, at 1.1489. The move lower came as the USD/JPY took out sellers around 144.15 and extended to above 144.35. The driver for this seems to have been early US players stepping back into the markets and buying the US currency. Hence, the dollar index (USDX) has now lifted further and reached a new session high at 98.49. The question from here on until the US close is really about how the markets view the dollar as a weekend haven trade. Well, as you can see they seemed to like it a bit more than they did earlier. Time will tell on that. There will be more updates to follow later this afternoon, before or after the European close. The EUR/USD is right now at 1.1501
