Early European stock gains peter out-check out the price action on the DAX

Earlier today the European stock markets reopened on the front foot. That saw the DAX almost open higher, after closing yesterday at 18,097. The high seen was set at 18,101, but that was right at the start of trading and since then all the major European markets have been tracking lower. The losses seem to the stemming from fresh downside across the US futures, all of which are now firmly in the red. Hence, the DAX has fallen back closer to the 18k handle once more. The FTSE 100 and CAC 40 are not performing very well right now either, with both battling to hold any gains at all. In fact the only the CAC is now in slight positive territory. The DAX is currently trading at 18,028
