The European stock market futures have just now lurched lower again and that has seen all three major index futures price a lower start to the day and lower than they were an hour ago. So, the DAX is now priced to reopen below the 19,900 mark and the FTSE 100 is toying with an effective opening very close to 8,100. The FTSE 100 closed 12.79 points higher on Friday, at 8,149.78. It will officially reopen at that level today, but that is always the case with this index, as it always officially kicks off where it last closed. However, that is not the likely effective opening right now, but of course that might change. So, in essence the levels to be mindful of again today are 8,002.34 and 8,193.08 (200 day moving average). It will be more than interesting to see how the index fares when it reopens and also what, if any impact higher UK yields might have on it today.
