Dow Jones turns lower in very early trading

As mentioned here much earlier today the Dow Jones was the best performing major US stock market index, when it closed higher on the day, at 42,322. Well, it just now reopened ever so slightly higher, at 42,356. The index has however, turned immediately lower in the first few moments of live trading, having initially peaked at 42,359, it has since fallen back to a low at 42,232. Well, given the size of that move it is not exactly conclusive, as we know just how rapidly this index can gain or lose 100-200 points. That said, the early moves are to the downside ahead of the only important US data release of the day. At 2pm GMT we get the latest University of Michigan consumer sentiment and inflation expectation indexes. The Dow Jones is currently trading at 42,277
