Yesterday all the major US stock market indexes curbed their recent enthusiasm and all closed lower on the day. Earlier in the day the Dow Jones had led the opening gains, so perhaps it was appropriate that it would end the session leading the losses. The index handed back 0.86% by the close, ending the session 382 points lower, at 43,910. The index had reopened at 44,359 and reached an intraday high at 44,405, but could not better the record high it had set on Monday and perhaps that was what helped to perpetuate the relapse into the close. Overnight and this morning the vista is red across the Asian markets, with Japanese stocks leading the way lower. That has added some further pressure onto the US futures. So, right now the Dow Jones is priced to open lower later on, but that can change, especially with the release of important US CPI data due before live trading resumes. The Dow Jones is just now priced to reopen at around 43,845
