Dow Jones takes another step closer to another record

Yesterday the US stock markets all closed higher and the gains were once again led by the tech sector and the Nasdaq 100, but more on that index a little later. Elsewhere, the Dow Jones recovered a from a session low at 40,665 and later rose above and closed above the 41k handle. The high seen was set at 41,107 and it later closed 235 points higher, at 41,096. The Dow Jones reached a record high earlier this summer at 41,585 and the Dow futures are still on the front foot this morning. The prospect of a Fed rate cut next week of more than 0.25% is still on the radar following some Fed comments endorsing such a prospect.
