Dow Jones steps back from opening above 38,700
A short while ago the US stock markets reopened with mixed fortunes. The Nasdaq 100 opened slightly lower and the Dow Jones opened slightly higher. The initial move in the Dow Jones saw it rise to 38,755. It has since dropped back a little, hitting a session low at 38,686 as I type. The price action is pretty jittery right now too, but in truth 50 or a 100 points is nothing in percentage terms with the index at these record levels. So, the Nasdaq 100 is now trying to reverse from its opening lows, where the Dow Jones appears to be doing the opposite. so the robots and automated trading systems are hard at work as usual in early trading. The Dow Jones is just now trading at 38,695
