Dow Jones rejects another test of the level- futures slight lower this morning

As reported here earlier this morning, the Dow Jones was the only major US index not to close in the green yesterday. The index ended the US session just 11 points in the red, at 41,989. Earlier in the day the index fell back to 41,519, but the subsequent rebound that kicked in saw it rise to 42,140. That high pretty much replicated the high point seen on Monday (42,147), as did the subsequent close. The only difference being the 200 day moving average was higher yesterday, at 42,162 and so the second attempt to get above, or close above that technical resistance level failed again. The price action across the Dow Jones futures this morning has been mostly covered by 41,900 and 42,100. Right now the index is closer to the low of that range and hence set for a lower opening this afternoon. Of course that outlook can and most probably will chop and change a good deal over the coming hours, but all the while the index fails to rebound, or close above its 200 day moving average, the downside risks remain in place. The index is right now priced to reopen around 41,935
