Dow Jones outshines again

Once again the Dow Jones was once again the best performing major US stock market, repeating what had happened on the close on Thursday evening. The index reached a high at 39,579 much earlier in the session, before later backing off towards 39,400. It later rebounded to close 125 points higher, at 39,512. That 0.32% gain compared to 0.22% for the Nasdaq 100 and just 0.16% for the S+P 500. The gain in the Dow Jones was led by MacDonalds and 3M. The worst performing stocks on the day were Nike and Boeing. Overnight the Dow Jones futures have traded a range more than covered by 39,450 to 39,550. The Asian markets are mostly in the red this morning though, but that has not dented the Dow Jones opening outlook unduly. The index is right now priced to resume live trading later on, at around where the index closed on Friday
