Dow Jones leads Wall Street home with a record close last night

Yesterday the Dow Jones was the standout best performing US stock market index from the very start of the session until the close. The index officially reopened at 44,385 (which was a new record opening level), but in reality no one would have been able to buy the index below 44,600 on the opening. It then lifted to a new all time high at 44,815, before backing off towards 44,500 later in the session. Several swings then followed before it later set a new all time record closing level, at 44,736, with a gain of 440 points on the day. Overnight the price action has been a little choppy following the comments from Trump, but in percentage terms not huge and so far that has not dented the opening outlook for later today. The index is just now priced to reopen at around 44,725
