Dow Jones leads this time as US stocks post higher closes
Yesterday it was the turn of the Dow Jones to lead the way higher for US stocks once more. As noted earlier in the day, the 40k level for the index was clearly in sight and later yesterday afternoon that level was surpassed. The Dow eventually rose to a high at 40,068 and later posted a daily close above 40k, at 40,008. That 0.61% rise compared to a gain of just 0.09% for the Nasdaq 100 and 0.38% for the S+P 500. Today all the Asian markets are in the green and that has seen the Nikkei 225 lift towards 37k, further extending its recovery from the lows seen on August 5. That has helped to lift the Dow Jones futures and right now the index is priced to reopen later today at around 40,085
