Yesterday the US stock markets were closed for the Memorial Day holiday. On Friday the Dow Jones was the weakest of the three major indexes, as further rotation back into tech favoured the Nasdaq and to a lesser degree, the S+P 500. Hence, the Dow barely managed to end the week on a positive note. As you are surely aware, the index suffered a similar fate all last week too, after stalling above 40k on May 20 and handing back more than 1000 points by the close on Friday. The Dow Jones ended last week at 39,069, with a gain of just 4 points on the day. Looking at the immediate chart on this one, it is possible that a drop below 39k today could extend and that is something that did not happen last week. Right now the Dow Jones is priced to reopen at around 39,030
