Dow Jones futures riding high ahead of US PCE release

The rise in the European stock markets now this afternoon is fuelling further gains for the US futures. As noted here earlier today, the Dow Jones was the best performing major US stock market yesterday, but without making that much headway at all. At least it managed to avoid a loss on the day. The index closed just 13 points higher, at 35,430, after falling back from an earlier session high at 35,579. However, right now today the Dow Jones futures are pricing a reopening above that prior session high. Of course the latest US PCE data might get in the way of that, as it will be released before live trading resumes. The futures price is currently pricing a reopening close to the current 2023 high, set on August 1, at 35,679, just now at around 35,640
