The Dow Jones opened lower yesterday afternoon, kicking off the new month at 42,262. The index had set a record monthly close the night before, at 42,330. The price action that followed was not exactly one-dimensional at all. The index rebounded from a session low at 41,945 into the US close, rising back above 42,300. However, a late session relapse saw it hand some of those rebound gains back. The index later closed 173 points lower, at 42,156. The index futures are lower right now this morning and currently pushing back to indicate a reopening later on, not much above that 42k handle. Look, this might change, but as with most things right now, it will be very much a news driven dynamic. Just to note also; we have the September ADP payroll report due out later on, at 12.15pm GMT and that could have an impact. We shall see.
