Dow Jones futures in the red following a disappointingly higher close last night

Yesterday the Dow Jones piled on another triple digit gain in early trading. Earlier in the day an update here noted the prospect of the index possibly posting another more than 1000 point gain by the close. Well, as you can see, the index was higher by 1,190 points at one stage after the opening, when it reached a session high, at 40,376. However, it was not able to hold that into the close and later fell back to 39,487. That almost 900 point slide totally derailed the prospect of another triple digit gain for the index. So, the Dow closed just 419 points higher, at 39,606. The price action across the futures so far today has been to the downside. At one point a little earlier, the index was priced to reopen below 39,350. It is trying to bounce just now, but as things stand, the Dow Jones is right now priced to reopen around 39,405
