Dow Jones futures making further progress ahead of US data releases at 1.30pm GMT

At 1.30pm GMT we get a couple of economic releases from the US. We have the usual weekly and continuing jobless claims numbers and the latest Philadelphia Fed business index (expected better, at +3 from -5.5). Also out are the final revisions to US Q3 GDP and PCE, but they are not expected to deviate at all from the prior readings. So, ahead of that lot the US equity futures are still recovering and that has seen the S+P 500 now price a reopening above 5,915. That is around 90 points above the lows seen after the close. The Dow Jones futures are pricing a higher opening too, right now around 42,590, remembering the index closed last night at 42,326, with a loss of 1,123 points on the day, marking a tenth straight day of declines. It sure is overdue a rebound of some kind and right now today, it looks like it might have another chance? We shall see on that, but if it does not then we might see a few more towels chucked into the right by the close tonight
