Dow Jones futures eyeing a potential opening above 39,500 today
The Dow Jones closed lower last night. That said, the index handed back just 31 points, closing at 39,282. Earlier in the day it had topped out at 39,439. and failed to get above the previous daily close at 39,475. That means it also did not reclaim the prior gap price level at 35,529. However, the record gains for the DAX and rise in the Nasdaq 100 and S+P 500 futures are providing support to the opening outlook today. The gains in the Nikkei 225 earlier today set that ball rolling and a lack of traction in US bond yields are also adding to that positive opening outlook. The Dow Jones is just now priced to open close to, if not above 39,500.
