Dow Jones futures edge off lows amid a dearth of US data this afternoon

The US equity futures are off their worst levels of the day now. Earlier the Dow Jones future was pricing the opening to as low as 37,270, but that was already in place at the time of my previous update and since then the price slipped to indicate an opening as low as 37,215. Well, that was then and this is now and with around 40 minutes to go before live trading resumes the outlook is a little brighter. The index is now priced to reopen around 37,325. That said, the index is still set to open lower and it remains to be seen if the index can reclaim levels above where it closed on Friday evening, at 37,466. There is no US data of note due out this afternoon apart from the latest New York Fed 1 year inflation expectation at 4pm GMT.
