Dow Jones comes out on top again

Yesterday it was not such a set of positive daily closes for the US stock markets. Where there were gains they were extremely modest and the Nasdaq 100 did not gain at all. Once again it was the Dow Jones that led the way, closing just 47 points to the better, at 43,958. That close was down somewhat from the earlier session high, at 44,141. It is fair to say; that the earlier highs were thwarted by another rebound in US yields, back above 4.45% in the 10 year note by the close. Indeed, that yield has risen to a high at 4.48% today and that might explain the slight negative ticks for the Dow Jones futures this morning. The index is currently pricing the reopening for later on at at around 43,925
