Dow Jones closes below 39k

Yesterday the Dow Jones was the outlier amongst the major US stock markets indexes, as it was the only one of the three to close in the red. The index continued to endorse the technically negative formation it had set in place on Friday and noted here at the start of the week. So, the Dow Jones fell as low as 38,881, but it later ended the session off its lows, at 38,972, with a loss of 96 points on the day. There was no standout component, it was a broad based lower close that looked purely based on further profit-taking. Overnight the Dow Jones futures are lower, as the Asian markets are mostly in the red so far today. The index is right now priced to reopen at around 38,930
