Dow Jones backs away from another record high at 41,776

Following on from the previous update, noting the leading gains in the Nasdaq 100 this afternoon, the Dow Jones has already had something of a red letter day. That is because the index did open higher. In fact it was a new record opening price for the index, at 41,723. It immediately advanced to set another new all time high, at 41,776, but as with the other two indexes, it has backed away somewhat from that record now. The Dow Jones is currently trading at 41,718
