Dow Jones approaching 42k as Michigan consumer inflation expectations rise

The US stock markets have now fallen back further in the first 30 minutes of live trading and the kicker for the most recent lows has come from the latest University of Michigan consumer inflation expectations, which have risen above consensus. That has now pushed the S+P 500 below 5,825 and the Nasdaq 100 is trading below 20,775 and close to 20,750. At the same time the Dow Jones has just this minute hit a fresh session low at 42,019. That is below the lows seen last December, when the index based out at 42,146. The risk of a drop below 42k would certainly seem live ahead of the close this evening, but technically that might not be of much consequence. The Dow is just off the lows right now though, currently trading at 42,060
