Dow Jones again leads US gains- futures in the red this morning

Yesterday the US stock markets notched up further gains, as all three major indexes closed in the green. Once again is was the Dow Jones that led those gains for a second successive day. The index closed 0.75% higher, compared to gains of 0.61% for the Nasdaq 100 and 0.55% for the S+P 500. The Dow opened at 40,233 and rose to as high as 40,630, before settling 300 points higher on the day, at 40,527. Perhaps it was the looming month-end that once again helped all the US stock markets higher, because the US data sure did not. US yields did edge lower though, as flow headed back to the US bond market. Overnight the Asian markets are mostly in the green and Japanese markets are open again for the rest of this week, but closed on Monday and Tuesday next week. That said, the Nikkei 225 is barely higher right now, with many players absent it seems for the Golden week holiday and month-end. So, the Dow Jones futures are a little lower this morning. The index is currently pricing the opening later at around 40,430
