On Friday the CAC 40 extended its rebound into the weekly close. The index ended the week at 7,724, with a gain of 1.27% on the day and that ensured it was the best performing major European stock market index. The DAX came next with a 1.15% rise and the FTSE bought up the rear, with a more modest 0.36% rise. The CAC 40 futures are lower this morning and unless anything changes soon, the index is set to kick off the week on the back foot. There have been a number of negative headlines on the outlook for the formation of an effective French government and perhaps more importantly the French luxury goods sector is under pressure right now and that is also weighing on the opening outlook. So, the CAC 40 is leading losses right now across the European futures ahead of the opening, currently pricing the reopening below 7,675
