Dollar under pressure this afternoon-EUR/USD edges above recent highs

As already noted here this afternoon, the dollar is reeling somewhat from the US data releases a little earlier. The fall in US Job vacancies has really done the damage and the trend continues to show a fall in the number of available jobs, as has been the case for several months now and this all adds to the view that  the US economy is slowing. However, compared to Europe it is still in a much better shape. However, more immediately that data and lower US yields this afternoon is not helping the dollar. Hence the GBP/USD and EUR/USD have been helped higher by the further losses in the USD/JPY, towards 144. The EUR/USD has therefore lifted slightly above its most recent highs, above 1.1070. The high seen this afternoon has been set at 1.1086 and it looks like it might be able to grind higher from here, but perhaps not too much ahead of the further US data releases due tomorrow and Friday. We shall see. The EUR/USD is currently trading at 1.1082
