Just now one of the Fed voters is already speaking over the wires (Bostic) and he has issued some dovish rhetoric in the past few minutes, stating that the Fed has turned the corner on monetary policy and the Fed is pretty much ready to start cutting rates. This is nothing news from Bostic and the markets have not really reacted too much to his comments. Perhaps they are waiting for Powell later on, but it seems more than likely the Fed boss will echo these Bostic comments. If he does not, then we could be in for some fireworks ahead of the weekend. The USD/JPY is right now still holding above 146 for the reasons just mentioned and it remains to be seen, If Powell will send this lower, underneath 145 again. It is really all to play for this afternoon and one thing is for sure, the USD/JPY will be very much front and centre of any FX action ahead of the weekend
