Divergence in US stocks delivers a new all time high for the Nasdaq 100-futures higher today

On Friday the US stock markets ended the week with mixed results. The Dow Jones and the S+P 500 limped to a lower close, but the Nasdaq 100 continued to push higher. In fact the Nasdaq 100 reached a new all time high on Friday, at 22,139.43, just surpassing the previous record, at 22,133. The index later set in place a new record daily and weekly close, at 22,114.69. That gain of 83.98 points on the session compared to a loss of 165 points in the Dow and narrowly lower close for the S+P, of just 0.44 points. The new record for the Nasdaq 100 was led by a standout gain in Airbnb, but some tech stocks were in the mix too, namely Micron Technology, Microchip Technology and NVIDIA. The Nasdaq 100 will not open later today due to the Presidents holiday in the US. However, overnight the Nasdaq 100 futures have been trading and right now they are pricing a record opening for tomorrow, currently around 22,185
