Despite coming close the Dow Jones rejects a new all time high

On Friday the Dow Jones was the best performing major index come the close. The Dow came very close in real terms to setting a new all time high. However, that August 30 high, at 41,585 remained intact as the index peaked on Friday at 41,533 and later closed 297 points higher on the day, at 41,393. Overnight the Asian stock markets are mixed today amid a holiday closure in Japan  (respect for the aged day). That has not had much of an impact on the Dow Jones futures and currently the index is priced to open ever so slightly higher later on. That outlook will change of course, but right now it is pricing that at around 41,410
