The final update here yesterday afternoon noted how the DAX had earlier rejected an attempt to push above 22k. Well, subsequent to that update the index did vault that level and hit a session high at 22,043. However, it was not able to hold the 22k level into the close. Nevertheless, the index still gained 668 points on the day, when it closed 3.14% higher, at 21,961. The index was helped significantly by the nearly 9% rise in the SAP share price yesterday. Following a series of higher closes on Wall Street last night (more on those later) the main US index futures are lower this morning and that is pushing the opening outlook for the DAX a little lower. The DAX is currently priced to reopen around 21,925
