DAX surges to new record
As partially covered in the previous update, the DAX has accelerated past the previous 2024 and all time high at 17,049. The index has now set a fresh record high around, or above 17,085. The driver for this is as was just now mentioned in that previous update. That said the US markets are yet to follow suit this morning, but we shall see if that transpires later on. I did beg the question on that in an update here yesterday and it seems the impact of the US CPI data might have dented the markets for a short while, but the resilience of the trend showed itself in the closes last night and it might well be the same by the close this evening. we shall see on that. Meanwhile, the DAX is currently trading at 17,075
