DAX still leading the way with another record opening
The European markets have not long since reopened for live trading and it has been a generally positive, if modest higher opening. Once again the DAX is in the spotlight, as it presses to a new all time high soon after the opening. Even the FTSE 100 managed to open a little higher too, but the gains seem hard fought at this early stage of the day. Once again the reader is reminded about the potential for month-end profit taking to impact the European equity space, but there is no visible signs of that yet this morning. Of course it might have to wait for the US markets to shape a direction first after the PCE data release. The DAX has now set a new record close to 17,640
