DAX steps back from opening gains this morning

The DAX did open higher this morning, at 21,830, up from a close on Friday, at 21,787. The high seen in early trading was set at 21,873, but more recently it has been edging back down. That reversal is not conclusive at this stage, but comes as the CAC 40 also rejects an earlier lift above 8k. As noted at the time, the CAC seemed to be struggling to vault that level and it has now fallen back towards 7,97. The FTSE 100 is still on the front foot though, still buoyed by the M+A gains in BP. The DAX is just now trading at 21,810 as we wait to see, if that technically negative close on Friday will hold more water by the close this afternoon
