DAX slips below 18,600 in early trading
The European stock markets have been open for around 30 minutes now and in that time there has been a lack of dynamic traction. In fact the DAX is now tracking lower. The index reopened officially today at 18,649, after closing yesterday at 18,652. The is now falling below 18,600. The CAC 40 and the FTSE 100 are lower right now too, but it is the DAX that is just about front-running the downside just now. The index is currently trading at 18,585
