DAX slips back in early trading

The DAX did reopen above 17k for the first time ever today, following what was a record close for the index yesterday, as mentioned here earlier. However, there has so far been a lack of traction in early trading. That has seen the index edge lower, to test that 17k handle on the downside. The FTSE 100 has also rejected a move above 7,700, despite coming close to that level after the opening. The dollar is just now coming back from earlier session lows, and the move slightly higher there seems to tie in with the current price action in the DAX. of course it is still very early in the session, so these interim moves can soon turn around again and the move lower in the DAX is by noe means conclusive at this stage
