DAX sets a technically negative close, but will it count?

Yesterday as covered here at the time, the DAX lifted to set a new record high, at 19,633. The index had earlier reopened at a new opening high, at 19,581. The index had closed on Monday at 19,508, which was until then a record close. Well, the turnaround that took place yesterday afternoon saw the DAX fall back to a low at 19,457. It later closed 22 points lower, at 19,486 and so that was an outside day reversal, from what was a new record high. The question today; is will that technically negative close result in more downside by the close tonight? Well, it is clearly at risk of doing that, given the losses stateside yesterday too. However, we have seen how many times in the past, how the index ignores such technical warnings, but given where the index is and where it has come from, at some point a deeper relapse will have to play out. To that end, the DAX futures are lower this morning, currently indicating a reopening around 19,470. The rest is up to you to decide.
