DAX sets new records above 18,800
The European stock markets are still going gangbusters this morning and that is delivering fresh records for the FTSE 100 and the DAX. The FTSE 100 has now lifted to new all time highs around 8,430 and the DAX has just risen above the 18,800 for the first time ever. The index is still enjoying a really dynamic run and leading the way generally, notwithstanding the gains in the FTSE 100. This move has already extended by around 250 points beyond the previous record (18,567) and right now there seems little to stop it rising further, unless there is a bout of profit-taking, or a negative news based catalyst of some kind ahead of the weekend. The DAX is just now trading at 18,810
