DAX sets a daily and weekly close above 16k-check out the futures
The DAX managed to close above the coveted 16k handle on Friday, ending the week with a gain of 34 points on the day, at 16,029. There can be no denying that was a positive end to the week for the German benchmark. However, the losses in the Nasdaq 100 later on Friday evening and the sea of red in Asia today have rather dented the outlook for the opening this morning. On the other hand, the weaker dollar is a sporting factor and so the DAX is still priced to reopen above 16k just now. The DAX futures were pricing that opening at closer to 16,050 earlier though. Of course the outlook can change over the next 40 minutes before live trading resumes, but right now the index is priced to reopen at around 16,020
